Acuity – Testing Near Vision

Tests for near vision are constructed  on the same general principle as those for distance. The test materials are different sizes of ordinary printers’ types. These are viewed, well illuminated, at a comfortable distance, and the near-visual acuity is then expressed by recording the number corresponding to the finest print that can be read.
