Acupuncture – Treatment

Treatment by acupuncture is effected chiefly by the insertion of needles. But massage, manipulations, and other exercises are also included. In certain cases, the needles are replaced by moxibustion, which is the slow combustion of dried wormwood on the skin. Recently, devices have been used to burn the wormwood away from the skin and direct the fumes only to the affected part. The action of the treatment is rapid; the pain departs very quickly, thus helping the healing process.
